Default Prophecies "The Lost Princess" & peacekeepers

Hi,

I've been playing about 4 weeks now so I'm still a bit low on the learning curve. Just finished Hell's Precipice and the storyline in Prophecies so I thought I'd go and tidy up some quests left over before going to Nightfall and continuing on the missions there (done about half of them but wanted to finish Prophecies first).

I have this quest "The Lost Princess" which I thought would be easy peasy after doing Hell's Precipice with HH (took me four or five tries while I got my targetting priorities right and tried not to over-aggro).

I'm running a Spiteful Spirit N/Me and have some of the NF Hero's.

Started in Beetletun as that seem the nearest jump off point, couple of low level mobs, then I start running up against these Peacekeepers. First group was something like 6 Peacekeeper Goons, not too hard, a few more Peacekeepers, okay so far. Then I run into a group of Peacekeepers, mixed names, can't remember much as I got annihilated pretty quickly.

So I was wondering if this is because I've finished the main storyline and now the mobs get harder - do I need to up my game a bit?

I've upgraded the Hero's that I use often, mostly with some collector weapons and /bonus items and given them some runes and stuff but haven't changed their default skills. I have updated their skills/attributes as they are all level 20 now. But they are far from being optimal and don't have any of the the builds that are listed on the Wiki, mostly because I haven't unlocked the skills they need or have access to those skills.

Just remembered - I changed all my armor from the Infused set to one that has the same rating but looks better - haven't got that Infused yet. Would that be part of the problem? Or is it just Mursaat that I need Infused armor against.

I'd appreciate any pointers about what I'm doing wrong and / or what I should be doing right.

Thanks

After you complete either Prophecies or EotN storylines, aka do last missions, you unlock War in Kryta for your character. It's a quite recent update. After you finish WiK and have no bounty quests in your quest log, no Peacekeepers will spawn.
Actually, it's pretty fun addition, making Prophecies finally a bit challenging. Especially when vanquishing with Peacekeepers active. They are designed for people who have already beaten the whole game and needed some new challenge. Unfortunately, the newcomers got hit by this addition after they complete Hell's Precipice.

So, my advice: work on your team build (both your skills and heroes' skill/runes) and leave Tyria for some time. Complete all other campaigns you have in normal mode, then start playing around with hard mode. Sometime about then get to WiK.

About the infusion - it's only against the Mursaat.

It may be easier for you to go north from Fisherman's Haven, since you will run into less Peacekeepers, etc. You need to go through Stingray Strand, Tears of the Fallen, Talmark Wilderness and The Black Curtain to the Temple of Ages.

If you don't yet want to tackle War in Kryta in order to get some stuff done in Prophecies, if you party with another player who has yet to start WiK, or who has finished it and has no bounties active, the map will spawn regular Prophecies mobs.

You'll probably want to be infused to tackle some of the WiK quests.

As a side note, it will be very beneficial for you to try and get some more skills for your heroes. Their default bars are often terrible. If you make some temporary characters of other professions in your other skill slots, you can unlock a number of skills for cheap (or even free in Prophecies). It's a worthy time investment.

Thanks for the replies.

I try and be methodical and have a plan that gives me a smooth progression so atm I'm going to continue with Nightfall, as suggested, and work on my Hero's skills, team builds and runes/inscriptions.

Thanks for the info about the route Grubcat, I will bear that in mind.

I had already scoped out the route to Mineral Springs to get my current armor set Infused so I'll try that first and see if I meet any significant opposition on the way there.

From what you have said and my follow up checking on the wiki I'm looking forward to doing War In Kyta, hard mode and vanquishing as I like a challenge that helps me to improve my game, though currently I think most of that is beyond my current capabilities - I did try running Old Ascalon in Hard Mode as soon as that option was available and got a fair amount done, then Died In A Fire when I got a bad pull / got ambushed by devourers, but it did make me realise I need still need to improve alot.

Cheers

Note that you can also get Infused during some missions - Iron Mines of Moladune, Ring of Fire, and Abaddon's Mouth.

The run through Iron Mines is the easiest, but the Mineral Springs trip does also have the possibility of an IDS (Icy Dragon Sword) drop..
